| :thumb111519975: Mykel and Sanda began their journey together when they met on the set of a photo shoot where Sanda was the model extraordinaire, and Mykel the accomplished photographer. The rest is history. Fast forward; now married in both life and art their shared creative vision has become a true balancing act of the masculine and the feminine. They are masters of the Photographic Digital Art Form, with Sand working both sides of the camera, and making a digital contribution as well. Ina sense, their magical images are transpersonal, starting with their own narrative. To view their images is to experience a dreamlike encounter, where a recurring repertoire of women, elements, animals and symbols dance in thematic harmony. Sexuality and spirituality are celebrated as on energy, defining the implicit power of the work. The Old World mood is created to allow a sense of timelessness and bring a mystical quality to the series. And yet, there is a certain futuristic feel to the images, underpinning the use of modern technology in creating them. By fusing the old with the new, the artists attempt to represent the portrayals hope to honor not only the beauty of that spirit, abut also the strength, both internal and external. Entering into this imaginal work of visual sensuality, is to immerse oneself into the realm of erotic exposure and spiritual sensibility. The photo digital art of Mykel and Sanda has been touted as having a Pre-Raphaelite feel with contemporary edge. Early inspiration did in fact come from the Pre-Raphaelite artist John Waterhouse, as well as twentieth century American painter, Maxfield Parrish. However, their own artistic, intuition has led them on a path away from the mere beautification and edification of women, and dropped them into the depths of emotional truth and sheer empowerment. There is no turning back, they have taken a bite of the forbidden fruit. Where it will take them, is a story that will be told in the images that come forth, from the hearts and minds of these two prolific artists. |
